Our Mission

The Outpost is a non-profit organization that raises money for charity and families in need all over the world and here at home. We carefully select and find out information on each charity and family before making a donation.  We are proud of what we do and we thank everyone for your support. On behalf of The Outpost we thank you for helping us, so we can help them.

Breaking News- Manhasset Secondary School's store The Outpost has raised over $5,000.00 for Hurricane Katrina victims! We thank everyone for your kind support.

How We Were Born

Manhasset High School students are always ready to lend a helping hand.

The Outpost, Manhasset High Schools general store opened in 2002.  Teaching the students involved to be responsible and charitable. Leaving them all with a sense of

accomplishment.  Mike Koondel, Middle School English teacher and student government advisor asked the students to come up some ideas to raise money for charity. Anthony DeMarinis pitched the idea of a school store.  With Mr. Koondels guidance Anthony presented his idea to Activities dictector Kenneth Dunn and Middle school Principal

Richard McMahon.  They liked the idea very much. The Outpost has become a separate activity form student government.

For the past three years Kenneth Massetti, high school Social Studies teacher has been the Outpost advisor. Under his guidance approximately 30 students have received community service credit through the Outpost. Anthony DeMarinis, now in his junior year remains the general manger. In the past 3 years over $9,000.00 has been raised. Giving donations to 13 charities.

This year The Outpost has already had a very strong start, expanding there business to custom clothing orders for the locate sport teams and other events. For the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund alone they have raised 3,446.00. The Outpost will also be participating in the “Adopt a town” event, which is where Manhasset School District will be raising money and donating clothing to families who have been hit by the Hurricane disaster. Lets hand a helping hand to our fellow Americans!
